Lorna was born with a passion for music majored in it throughout high school and college where she studied with some of the best. David Blair McClosky, author of "Your Voice At It's Best" gave her a strong foundation in vocal technique and vocal coach Eddy Watson of Berklee Colege of Music taught her how to approach contemporary style singing without damaging the voice. Before long fait had her fronting her own cabaret show. The Lorna Greenwood Show toured though out the US and Canada for thirteen years. Performance venues included Harrah's Casino in Atlantic City, NJ, The Lone Star Cafe in New York, NY, Bonaventure Hotel, Montreal Quebec, Canada, the Pocono Hershey Resorts and the Boston Playboy Club, to name just a few. In 1980 Lorna settled in Nashville, TN, and spent the next twenty years growing her knowledge of the music industry as a songwriter, session/jingle singer, vocal coach, pubic relations assistant and children's record company assistant. She played a key part of The New Vic Willis Trio, performing weekends on WSM's historic Grand Ole Opry and in 1989 Lorna began touring with international RCA/BMG recording artist Roger Whittaker, as a featured vocalist/violinist. She accompanied him for over eight years throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe before relocating to the First Coast in 2000.
Lorna also plays the Native American love flute and has recorded numerous albums of her original compositions featuring the haunting sounds of this instrument.
One of her more memorable projects here on the First Coast was being engaged by the Super Bowl 39 host committee to produce and record music. In that regard, she co-wrote Super Bowl theme music (with writer-architect Richard Reep): It was featured on the Super Bowl website that year (2005)! Lorna also has been a featured as one of the judges for New4Jax's "Oh Say Can You Sing" Competition.
Lorna continues to perform an average of 20 shows per month and she knows what it takes to be a professional musician. She also devotes much time to developing promising talent and sharing her vast knowledge of the entertainment industry with the up and coming talent on the First Coast. She currently offers vocal instruction for contemporary style singing for all ages and levels of singers. She stresses vocal health and proper singing technique to maintain a healthy instrument.
